Academic Affairs
Who is my Academic Advisor?
Each
student, upon entering the college, or a cohort, is assigned an academic advisor
who will help the student to select appropriate goals and schedule the courses
which will assist the student in realizing her/his goals. If the student
is unaware of who has been assigned to them, this information may be obtained
by contacting the Registrar's Office
or call 859.846.5341.
Note: Students hold final responsibility for
their academic record.
Is counseling provided if additional help is
needed?
The
Director of Student Affairs monitors each student's academic progress through
consultation with faculty and mid-term deficiency grade reports. The
director provides academic support services, study skills training, and other
college transition skills. A peer-tutoring program is also offered through
the Office of Student Affairs. Please contact Student Affairs or call 859.846.5390 for more
information.

What is the Tuition Refund Policy at Midway College?
In an instance in which it is necessary to withdraw from
the college – regardless of the reason – the student must notify the Office of
the Registrar in writing. The date on which written notice is received (or
post-marked, in the case of a withdrawal received by mail) shall be the
official date of withdrawal for purposes of tuition refund, computation and
recording of grades, and the date of record for purposes of financial aid
refunds to the various sources. Any student withdrawing from the college must
complete a withdrawal form and participate in an exit interview conducted by
the Director of Student Affairs or designee. Forms are located in the Office of
Student Affairs.

Financial Aid
How do I apply for Financial Aid?
Apply
as early as possible after January 1st. The priority deadline for the
Commonwealth of Kentucky is March 15th of each year. You will be
considered for every federal, state, and institutional aid program available by
following these five steps:
Step One: Complete the FAFSA (or
Renewal FAFSA for returning students) as soon as possible after January 1st of
each year. The application can be completed on the FAFSA website at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Paper applications
are available from high school guidance offices or from our Admissions Office or Financial Aid Office. This application
will determine eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant, other federal and state
grants, federal loan programs, as well as aid awarded through Midway College.
Step Two: If you reside in a state
other than Kentucky, complete the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA, and check with your
guidance office about how to apply for your home state grant program.
Step Three: Remember to list
Midway College on your FAFSA so that your information is sent to use. The
FAFSA code for Midway College is 001975.
Step Four: A few weeks after the
FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA is completed and submitted, a Student Aid Report (SAR)
is mailed, or e-mailed to you. Review the SAR to make certain the
information provided is accurate. If you used estimated

Registrar
How does the registration process begin?
The
Registrar will publish registration dates for each semester or other
terms. Students who have been admitted to the college are eligible to
register for courses offered at the college subject to an conditions of
admission, class size limitations and prerequisites established for particular
courses. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with their advisor
before they begin the registration process. For more information, please

Under certain conditions, and with the written approval of the academic dean of
the Women's College, a student registered in one of the several "day"

add or drop a course?
The student is strongly encouraged to
discuss any changes to their schedule with their Academic Advisor.
How do I apply for my degree?
A
student approaching the completion of the requirements specified for a degree
or certificate should file an application for a degree with the Registrar's Office or call 859.846.5341
by the last Friday in October (for December and May graduates) or March (for
July graduates) to insure that a diploma is ordered. Diplomas and certificates
are presented at commencement to students who successfully complete all degree
requirements. Moreover, the student should note that in the event that
degree requirements are not met, for whatever reason, the student will be
ineligible to participate in the commencement ceremony. Requests for
exceptions should be directed to the appropriate academic dean.
How may I
obtain an official Transcript? Is there a cost for this service?
Transcripts
of courses and credits will be forwarded to the student or to other educational
institutions, agencies or firms by the Registrar's
Office or call 859.846.5341 upon written request of the student. A
fee is charged for transcripts and is payable in advance accept that the first
copy is free to graduates each year. Requests for transcripts will
usually be processed within three working days; however, during registration
and immediately following the end of a. semester, there may be some delay.
Note too that the official academic record is the property of the college and
the college reserves the right to withhold the release of that record if the
student/former student has an obligation to the college.
How may I
update my personal information?
For a
name change in the campus data base, one of the following documents are
required, as applicable, and should be mailed to the Registrar's Office. All name
changes are processed at the end of the term so the update will not be reflected
immediately upon receipt of the documents. Documents include:
Marriage license, Divorce decree or court order, Valid Drivers license in the
new name.

How
can I appeal a parking ticket?
If
you feel that your vehicle has been unfairly ticketed or towed, you may file an
appeal at the Office of Student Affairs within seven days. Your appeal will be reviewed by the Parking
Appeals Committee.

you are awarded federal work-study through your financial aid package, you may

The
Office of Student Affairs provides students, faulty, and staff with new and
replacement ID’s. There is no cost for
the first ID created.
Additional/Replacement ID’s cost $10 each. Please stop by Student Affairs during
operating hours to have your ID made.
